City Growers is contributing to the new green economy in communities where economic revitalization is needed most. In the coming years, they will create a checkerboard of productive green space in Boston’s inner city where local growing talent thrives.
Fresh Box Farms
They are farmers, scientists, engineers, and people working hard to make sustainable growing the future. All of their produce is cultivated with your health, tastes, and values in mind. FreshBox Farms can grow over 30 different types of plants such as heirloom lettuces, arugula, spinach and herbs. They use controlled environment hydroponics to create perfect produce.
Gaining Ground, a non-profit organic farm in Concord, Massachusetts, grows vegetables and fruit with the help of hundreds of community volunteers and donates all of this fresh food to area meal programs and food pantries.
Green City Growers
Green City Growers transforms unused space into thriving urban farms, providing clients with immediate access to nutritious food, while revitalizing city landscapes and inspiring self-sufficiency.
Higher Ground Farm
Higher Ground Farm manages two rooftop farms in Boston. One is a commercial rooftop farm located on the Boston Design Center in the Seaport District of Boston, growing greens, herbs, tomatoes, and other vegetables for sale to Boston restaurants. The other is on Boston Medical Center, growing fresh produce for the hospital's patients, staff, and visitors and for their on-site food bank.

Newton Community Farm
The mission of Newton Community Farm is to nurture a community that teaches and models sustainable agricultural and environmental practices on the historic Angino Farm.
The Food Project
Their mission is to create a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. Their community produces healthy food for residents of the city and suburbs, provides youth leadership opportunities, and inspires and supports others to create change in their own communities.
ReVision Urban Farm
Victory Programs’ ReVision Urban Farm is an innovative community-based urban agriculture project that grows produce in its own fields and provides access to affordable, nutritious and culturally appropriate food to residents of the ReVision Family Home and extended community. In association with ReVision Family Home, they also provide job training for youth and Boston’s homeless.
